On September 18, 2024 Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Karen Giloyan, visited the Artashat community to get acquainted with the condition of the sports infrastructure.
The Deputy Minister, along with the head of the community, Karlen Mkrtchyan, visited the Artashat City Stadium, where he familiarized himself with the existing conditions and discussed the ongoing and planned renovation and construction work with sectoral officials.

To improve the athletics infrastructure in the community and to ensure proper preparation for the Francophonie Games to be held in Armenia in 2027, it is planned to acquire the land adjacent to the stadium. This will allow for the future development of the stadium with the necessary athletic infrastructure.

The Deputy Minister also reviewed the project for the construction of a swimming pool on the grounds of the Artashat Youth Sports School, made observations, and offered suggestions to ensure the construction meets sports standards.

Next, Karen Giloyan visited the Razmik Goletsyan Olympic Reserve Youth Wrestling Sports School, where, together with the community head and the school director Rafik Goletsyan, they discussed the major renovation plans. Renovation of the wrestling and basketball halls is planned, which will contribute to the development of these sports in the community.
