Rehabilitation and Modernization of the Arzni–Shamiram Irrigation Canal
12.11.2025
The Arzni–Shamiram Canal Rehabilitation Project focuses on restoring and upgrading one of Armenia’s key irrigation infrastructures. Originally constructed to supply irrigation water to thousands of hectares of farmland, the canal has deteriorated over time due to aging structures and water leakage.
Under this project, comprehensive rehabilitation works are being implemented, including concrete lining of the main canal sections, repair and replacement of hydraulic structures, cleaning and strengthening of embankments, and modernization of water intake and control facilities.
The works are carried out in accordance with national construction standards and environmental protection requirements. The project contributes to improved water management efficiency, increased agricultural productivity, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
Through this initiative, BIM Engineering LLC supports Armenia’s efforts toward resilient and efficient irrigation infrastructure, ensuring reliable water supply for rural communities and farms along the Arzni–Shamiram irrigation network.
