Rehabilitation of Saralanj Pumping Station No. 7/1

04.10.2025

The Saralanj Pumping Station No. 7/1, located in Aragatsavan village of Aragatsotn region, has been operating since 1974 and serves as a critical infrastructure for supplying irrigation water to agricultural lands and the 2nd stage pumping station. Despite previous partial renovations, the facility has faced significant technical deterioration, resulting in inefficient operation and water supply interruptions.

In 2023, only two pumps were partially operational, irrigating about 100 hectares, while most of the original equipment remains physically worn out. Technical inspections conducted in 2024 revealed multiple deficiencies, including worn-out pumps, damaged valves, inefficient hydraulic schemes, and deteriorated outlet structures.

Our company has undertaken the project of comprehensive rehabilitation of Saralanj Pumping Station, with the following key objectives:

  • Modernization of pumping equipment, including the installation of new high-capacity pumps and motors.
  • Restoration and optimization of main pipelines and hydraulic schemes.
  • Reinforcement of auxiliary structures, including intake, collector, and pressure basin.
  • Implementation of energy-efficient solutions to reduce water and electricity losses.
  • Development of an operation and maintenance plan ensuring continuous irrigation water supply.

Upon completion, the project will:

  • Enable irrigation of an additional 400 hectares of fertile land in Tatul, Suser, and Talin communities.
  • Improve water security for the already irrigated 100 hectares.
  • Significantly reduce system failures, water losses, and energy waste.

This rehabilitation will play a vital role in strengthening the agricultural potential of the Talin community, contributing to sustainable water management and rural development.
