Within the framework of the “TA-10148 ARM: Wastewater Collection and Treatment Solutions Across the Lake Sevan Basin (56031-001)” project, a meeting was held with the head of the enlarged Martuni community and the heads of its administrative districts. The discussion highlighted the importance of the project, both for environmental protection and for improving the living standards of the local population.

The parties explored opportunities for efficient wastewater collection, treatment, and the reuse of treated water. Special emphasis was placed on protecting Lake Sevan’s ecosystem and improving water quality by preventing the discharge of untreated wastewater.

Community leaders expressed their readiness to cooperate at all stages of the project’s implementation, stressing that the initiative will help enhance public health and boost socio-economic development.

As part of the project, modern sewage collection and treatment infrastructure will be established, ensuring long-term environmental protection and a substantial improvement in residents’ quality of life.
