New water supply system in the Sardarapat community
11.06.2025
The water supply system improvement program in the Sardarapat community has been completed - 16 September 2021
Here is one of our already completed projects!
The water supply system improvement program in the Sardarapat community has been completed, implemented through joint efforts by the USAID “Partnerships for Advanced Science and Technology for Integrated Resource Management” (PFASTRM) program and the local community.
As a result of the program, the entire water supply infrastructure has been upgraded: old, deteriorated pipes were replaced with more durable polyethylene pipes, a new pumping station and chlorination facility were constructed, and the efficiency of the water pump was improved. The water pipeline now reaches all households in the village.

Work is currently underway to install water meters and sign contracts with consumers.
From now on, the community will have safe, round-the-clock water supply. Thanks to the improved network and the introduction of a metering system, water loss in the network and wasteful usage by residents will be eliminated. As a result, the community is expected to save approximately 1.5 million cubic meters of water and 480 megawatt-hours of electricity annually. The saved resources will be redirected to address other community needs.
It is worth noting that this USAID PFASTRM drinking water program has also been implemented in the Aratashen and Yeghagnut communities, achieving excellent results.
