Wastewater collection and treatment solutions for the Sevan Lake basin
28.05.2025
With financing from the Asian Development Bank, the consulting company "BIM Engineering" will carry out a preliminary technical and economic feasibility study on wastewater collection and treatment solutions for the Sevan Lake basin.
❗ During a meeting with Martiros Nalbandyan, Acting Chairman of the Water Committee, and Deputy Chairman Davit Mkrtchyan, representatives of the company also mentioned that intensive work will be carried out in the coming months to assess the current situation.
✅ Based on the collected data, preliminary solutions will be proposed for modernizing and upgrading existing wastewater treatment plants in the communities of Martuni, Gavar, and Vardenis. For non-sewered settlements, solutions will be suggested for connecting them to the existing sewage network or introducing decentralized sewage systems.
✅ As part of the study, a spatial analysis will also be developed through GIS mapping to enhance the visibility of solutions encompassing the communities.
