2024 – FOR THE NEEDS OF THE WATER COMMITTEE OF THE MINISTRY OF TERRITORIAL ADMINISTRATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA:
A) OVERHAUL OF THE RIND-ARENI SECTION OF THE HERMON-YELPIN GRAVITY IRRIGATION PIPELINE
B) RECONSTRUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 900M SECTION OF THE NORK CANAL
C) RECONSTRUCTION OF BRANCH III-A OF THE LOWER HRAZDAN CANAL – PREPARATION OF DESIGN DOCUMENTATION AND COST ESTIMATION
Contract: WC-IDPZB-24/1-N-2 – IN PROGRESS

Based on field studies conducted in the contract areas, discussions with the operating company, and the requirements of the technical assignment, the following preliminary measures are planned:

a. In the Nork section:

• Replace the open canal running beneath the road and buildings—whose bed and walls are in a semi-collapsed state—with a 60-meter-long, 1200 mm diameter steel pipeline, to prevent filtration, increase system reliability, and ensure the conveyance of 1,500 liters per second of flow.
• In various sections along the 840-meter canal, depending on the degree of deterioration, perform cleaning of sediment and deposits, and carry out concrete repair works on the walls, bed, and damaged areas while preserving the designed hydraulic capacity of the canal.

b. In the Hermon-Yelpin and Rind-Areni sections:

• Construction of a new 660-meter-long concrete canal using LR-60 prefabricated elements, including water inlet/outlet junctions.
• Complete reconstruction of a 300 linear meter segment of the metal pipeline in the Rind-Areni area.

c. Branch III-A of the Lower Hrazdan Canal:

• Currently in the field study phase, but according to the technical specification, reconstruction works are planned for the most deteriorated sections of the Lower Hrazdan Canal.
